JR. A THUNDER DROP RETURN MATCH WITH BURNABY

The Langley Thunder mustered just two goals as they lost to 9-2 to the Burnaby Lakers on Sunday evening in Burnaby – just three days after defeating the same club 10-7 in overtime.

The Thunder had difficulty penetrating an aggressive Burnaby defense, and took most of their 32 shots from well outside.

At the other end, Burnaby was often able to penetrate to the crease to challenge Thunder goalie Graham Chandler – who responded with 33 saves and earned the coaches’ admiration as the Thunder player with the best performance of the night.

Both teams were distracted by penalties. Langley players were sent to the box for a total of 30 minutes, the Lakers put in 22 minutes of penalty time.

The Thunder return to action Wednesday, May 13 at 7:30 PM, as they host the Port Coquitlam Saints with a chance to better their performance since the first game of the season where Poco won 16-12.

Scoring for Thunder: Reegan Comeault, 1 goal, 1 assist
Mitch Dibblee, 1 goal
Scott Davidson, 1 assist
Luke Bailey, 1 assist
