New Look Thunder

The Junior Thunder has a new look team after big changes over the last few days. General Manager, Brock Rose said “after the recent losses and a coaching change the team was not making progress. We shook things up and set up the program for the future. We want our top prospects to get more floor time and become the leaders of the future. This year we did not a talent problem but rather team chemistry was not working.” Expect an enthusiastic effort this afternoon.

In recent moves the Langley Jr Thunder have traded away six players in four deals as club leaders turn an eye to the future. In the major deal with Burnaby, Thunder goalie Ray Hodgkinson, Mitch Dibblee and Mike King moved to the Jr Lakers in exchange for goalie Andrew Copeland and two first round picks in the 2010 midget draft.

In a second deal, former Thunder captain Scott Davidson was traded to Port Coquitlam for a future draft pick. The third move involved Langley native, Sean Messenger traded to Delta Islanders for a 2010 draft pick. Sean will join goalie Graham Chandler who was moved to the Islanders earlier in the week.
