New look Thunder Junior A’s. Impress in Loss to Victoria
It was the Thunder’s first game since losing a total of 6 players in trades last week, but the performance was more
consistent than the team has managed in recent outings.
The Thunder picked up 4 of their 7 goals on power plays, while giving up two short handed. The Langley
defense struggled with the versatility of the Shamrock offense, while the Langley offense had trouble with the
aggressive Victoria defense which was able to create loose ball situations – and costly turnovers.
Although the game was lost, Thunder leadership saw a victory in the team’s ability and desire to stay focused
and committed through the entire 60 minutes.
After Sunday’s game, there was an apparent belief that the chemistry has improved.
Scoring for Thunder:
Richard Willmott, 2 goals, 2 assists
Brendan Gibson, 2 goals, 1 assist
Greg Mahoney, 1 goal, 2 assists
Andrew Bromley, 1 goal
Sean Messenger, 1 goal
Matt Gibson, 2 assists
Colton Porter, 1 goal, 1 assist
