Langley Jr. Thunder Fan Night to Wrap Up the Season

The Langley Jr Thunder will hold a fan appreciation night on Thursday, July 2 as they host the New Westminster Salmonbellies at the Langley Events Centre at 7:30.

At Thursday’s game, the club plans special draws and giveaways for young and older! Adult refreshment will be available as well. This concludes their first season of play at the Langley Events Centre with a salute to the fans who have supported their efforts to build the new franchise in Langley.

The team has struggled as it changed coaches and personnel in a hunt for the ingredient(s) that would turn their frequently-competitive performances into more than one win and a tie.

This past weekend, the Thunder dropped a pair. On Friday night, a total of 15 different players tossed a total of 40 shots at the Delta Islanders as they tried to close a two-goal gap that separated the teams for most of the game. The final score was Delta 10 – Langley 8.

Sunday evening in Burnaby, the Thunder, again, were just two goals back, and clearly in the game in the first two periods, as they were able to run with the Lakers and were effective on defense.

But, as in a few previous games, the team stumbled in the third period and watched Burnaby pile on 6 unanswered goals to win the game 14-7.

Come to the game on Thursday, July 2 to see the final game of the season against the New West Salmonbellies. It's going to be a fun night!
