Thunder Acquire Claxton

Langley, BC (March 15, 2017)  Just a few weeks after the 2017 WLA Draft, the Langley Thunder added another building block in goaltender Charles Claxton.

The Thunder sent their third-round pick in the 2018 WLA draft to the Maple Ridge Burrards in return for the Canadian Lacrosse Association/Western Lacrosse Association playing rights to Charles Claxton.

Claxton was originally drafted 11th overall by the Maple Ridge Burrards in the 2016 WLA draft. He dressed in six games in 2016 where he had a 1-0 record. In his WLA career he has played 60:11 minutes, has a career 6.98 G.A.A, and a .833 save percentage.

The Langley Thunder open their regular season with a pair of road games. The season opener is on Friday, May 19, 2017 against the Victoria Shamrocks. They return to the island against the Nanaimo Timbermen on Sunday, May 28, 2017. They return home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 against Claxton’s former team the Maple Ridge Burrards at 7:45pm inside the Langley Events Centre.
