Parts Ways with Ernie Truant After Two Seasons

November 9th, 2016

Burnaby, BC – The Western Lacrosse Association announced today that Ernie Truant will not be returning as Commissioner for the upcoming 2017 season.

Speaking on behalf of the WLA Board of Governors, Chairman Dan Richardson said, “We are grateful to Ernie not only for his work the past two seasons in the WLA, but for the lifetime he has dedicated to the game of lacrosse.”

This was Ernie’s second term as Commissioner; having taken the reins in 2009, then again in 2015. He previously held similar positions in the BC Junior A and West Coast Senior B box lacrosse leagues.

The Board of Governors is looking for a new direction with the position of Commissioner, and invites interested parties to stay tuned to www.WLALacrosse.ca in anticipation of an official Request for Interest being posted very soon.
