A decade of commitment: Thunder honour Skye for service

After a decade in the organization, the Langley Thunder are extending a heartfelt thank you to long-time defender Aaron Skye.

A North Shore Minor Lacrosse product, Skye was selected 10th overall in the 2016 BCJALL Draft and immediately made his mark, helping Langley capture the 2016 BC Intermediate A Provincial Championship. He went on to play three seasons of Junior A with Langley before being selected by the Thunder in the 2020 WLA Graduating Player Draft.

Skye played 64 games for the Thunder at the Senior A level.

This off-season, Skye was part of the trade that brought Chase Fraser and Tyson Johnson to Langley.

“Aaron has been a dedicated member of the Thunder family for over a decade,” said Ken Buchan, President and Governor of the Thunder organization, which consists of the Langley Senior A, Junior A and Junior Tier 1 (formerly Intermediate A) teams. “He grew through our system, contributed to a championship, and was a leader every step of the way. We thank him for everything he’s brought – on and off the floor – and wish him nothing but success moving forward.”

While trades are an inevitable part of the game, Skye’s commitment, growth, and impact have left a lasting mark on the organization, and the Thunder wishes him the best in the next chapter of his lacrosse career.”
