|POST GAME| Game 3 - Home Opener

by Trevor McManus

Langley, BC (June 1, 2017) The Langley Thunder (0-3) lost to the Maple Ridge Burrards (2-1) on Wednesday night, 16-9.

The Thunder found themselves in a bit of a hole in the first three minutes of the game, four shots and a four-goal deficit. Langley fought back to a 4-3 game. But the Burrards added three more to make it 7-3 after one.

“There were definite positives coming from that game. The boys found themselves in a jam a couple of times and they did not give up,” said Head Coach Darcy Rhodes. “I was impressed with how they battled back in that game.”

For the third time in as many outings newcomer JP Kealey led the offense. Kealey added 3 goals and 2 assists which puts his point total up to 13 on the season, which is only three back of first place in the WLA.

“Kealey had a good game, he has a great shot from the outside and he used it well,” said Rhodes. “Again, he is still trying to find that chemistry with his teammates, so once that clicks I think he will really excel.”
