Game on! WLA releases 2020 schedule

The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) has released the 2020 schedule as the 100-day countdown begins to Opening Night on May 21.

Fans on both the mainland and the Island will have options on opening night with the Maple Ridge Burrards visiting Queen’s Park Arena to face off against the New Westminster Salmonbellies, and the Langley Thunder heading to Frank Crane Arena for a tilt against the Nanaimo Timbermen.

The defending WLA Champion, Victoria Shamrocks, open their season at The Q Centre on May 22 against the Burnaby Lakers.

Home opener’s for each of the clubs are:

● May 21 - New Westminster (2018: 11-7-0) against Maple Ridge

● May 21 - Nanaimo (10-7-1) against Langley

● May 22 - Victoria (12-6-0) against Burnaby

● May 23 - Coquitlam (3-15-0) against Victoria

● May 24 - Maple Ridge (12-6-0) against Nanaimo

● May 27 - Langley (4-14-0) against Burnaby

● Jun 5 - Burnaby (10-7-1) against Coquitlam

The regular season will run through July 31, followed by the playoffs tentatively scheduled for August 4 to August 31 and the 2020 Mann Cup will be in Ontario from September 4 to 12.
