Game preview: Thunder host Adanacs

Coming off their first victory of the season, the Langley Thunder look to make it consecutive wins as they host the Coquitlam Adanacs in Western Lacrosse Association action.

The two Senior A teams square off tonight (June 12) at Langley Events Centre with a 7:30pm game time. Langley enters with a 1-4 record, hoping to pull even with the 2-4 Adanacs in the points column.

Robert Church led the Thunder with two goals and three assists while Charles Scanlan served as the primary playmaker, assisting on half of his team’s 10 goals in their most recent game, a 10-8 home victory over the Maple Ridge Burrards on June 5. The Burrards opened the scoring, but Langley led for the bulk of the contest.

The Adanacs were last in action on June 8 when they edged the Nanaimo Timbermen 10-9 at the Coquitlam Sports Centre behind four goals from Adam Noakes, including the game winner. Noakes has tallied the decisive goal in both Adanacs wins.

In terms of statistical leaders for each team, Chase Scanlan tops the Thunder in both goals (10) and points (15) while Kyle Brunsch has a team-best nine assists. Both have played in all five games for the team.

In goal, Aden Walsh has an 11.56 goals against average and .783 save percentage.

Clark Walter and Kean Moon are tied for the team lead with nine goals while Tyler Kirkby leads in both assists (15) and points (23). All three players have suited up in all six Adanacs games.

Andrew Gallant sports a 10.25 GAA and .804 save percentage and has made a league-high 251 saves.

This is the first of three head-to-head meetings between the teams this season.
