Wednesday night was about more than just lacrosse.
Wearing specially designed jerseys, the Langley Thunder raised $2,150 by auctioning off the game-worn jerseys in support of the Tessa Beauchamp Foundation. The total brings the team’s fundraising efforts for the Foundation to over $33,000 since the initiative began in 2012.
Tessa passed away in 2012 at the age of 18 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Her father Steve, mother Wendy, and sister Rachel took part in a ceremonial face-off, with many more friends and family cheering from the stands at Langley Events Centre.
“We are incredibly humbled and grateful to the Langley Thunder for honouring Tessa’s memory in such a meaningful way," her family said. "Even more than a decade after her passing, it means so much to know that her spirit continues to inspire kindness, generosity, and community support. The funds raised will help us continue Tessa’s legacy by supporting causes she cared deeply about.”
