Langley, BC (July 27, 2017) The Langley Thunder (4-13) defeated the Coquitlam Adanacs (5-11) on Wednesday night, 10-9 in overtime.

Rookie Johnny Pearson led the way for Langley, scoring three goals, an assist and added a fight to his impressive 2017 stats. In 12 games, he has scored 11 goals, 10 assists and 21 points.

Junior call-up Ryan Martel also added a hat trick for the Thunder. All three of his goals were late in the game. He scored one in third and a pair in overtime, including the game winner with less than five minutes to play.

“We are very proud of this team and how they have battled back multiple times this season,” said Head Coach Darcy Rhodes. “This is a good young group and they are really starting to gel, winning three of the last four games at home. I think this team will really use Langley Events Centre as homefield advantage and make it a tough building for opponents to play in.”

Goaltender Zack Wickett had a big night in the Thunder’s crease, stopping 47 of 56 shots and earned his first WLA win. Meanwhile, Assistant Captain James Rahe has taken over the goal scoring lead for the Langley Thunder. He has 24 goals, 22 assists and 46 points in 16 games. Rahe is currently ninth in the WLA in scoring.

Langley finishes off the 2017 season on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, taking on the Burnaby Lakers inside the Bill Copeland Arena. The game can be seen on Play Full Screen with faceoff at 7:45pm.
