A public memorial service will be held for local lacrosse legend Les Wingrove on Saturday, May 12 at 1 p.m. on the main arena floor at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex.

Wingrove passed away last Friday night. He was 74 years old.

The Wingrove family is encouraging people to donate to the Trevor Wingrove Bursary Fund in lieu of flowers. It was set up to honour Trevor, who died of cancer in 2010 at the age of 42 and is awarded to graduating high school students who plan to go to a post-secondary institution.
