It was the Scanlan Show on Sunday night in Maple Ridge.

The trio of Chase Scanlan, Clay Scanlan and Charles Scanlan combined for 14 goals and 31 points in an 18-11 win over the Burrards. The Western Lacrosse Association game was played at Maple Ridge’s Cam Neely Arena.

Both Langley and Maple Ridge sit with 2-5 records.

The Thunder trailed 2-0 less than four minutes into the game before the Scanlan’s took over, each scoring once to give Langley the lead for good.

Those three goals opened the floodgates as Langley scored seven unanswered goals, leading 7-3 after 20 minutes. And after the teams combined for 10 goals in the first period, the middle frame was even more explosive with Langley scoring 8 of the 15 goals for a 15-10 advantage.

The 18 goals marked a season-high for the Thunder through the team’s first seven games. Chase Scanlan led all players with a dozen points, scoring four and setting up eight other goals, while both Clay and Charles had five-goal games, finishing with 10 and 9 points, respectively.

Nathaniel Kozevnikov also had a big game for Langley with a hat trick and six points with Stryker Roloff rounding out the scoring with one goal. Aden Walsh stopped 39 of 49 shots in goal for the Thunder.

Ryan Jones (5-3) and Marcus Klarich (2-4) led the Burrards offence.

Up next for the Thunder is June 19 as they welcome the New Westminster Salmonbellies to Langley Events Centre. Game time is 7:30pm.

The Langley Thunder lacrosse organization consists of Senior A, Junior A and Junior Tier 1 teams who play in the Western Lacrosse Association, BC Junior A Lacrosse League and BC Junior Tier 1 Lacrosse League respectively. All three teams play their home games at Langley Events Centre.
