Langley, BC (May 11, 2017)  The Langley Thunder announced today that they have acquired the rights to Davide DiRuscio from the Cobourg Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse.

DiRuscio was originally dealt to the Thunder from the Nanaimo Timbermen in early January in exchange for Kyle Belton. He currently plays for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and backstopped the Cobourg Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse. In 2016, he appeared in three games and had two assists and a 9.66 Goals Against Average.

The Thunder also announced that perennial number one goaltender Brodie MacDonald will miss the entirety of the 2017 WLA season due to injuries and personal commitments. MacDonald has played his whole career with the Thunder, appearing in 98 games with a 40-35-4 record, and 8.35 G.A.A and a .805 save percentage.

In addition to DiRuscio, former Langley Jr. A Thunder Zach Wickett signed as a free agent and Charles Claxton will all be competing for the top two goalie spots.

Claxton was acquired by the Thunder in mid-March in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2018 WLA Draft. Claxton was originally drafted 11th overall by the Maple Ridge Burrards in the 2016 WLA draft. He dressed in six games in 2016 where he had a 1-0 record. In his WLA career he has played 60:11 minutes, has a career 6.98 G.A.A, and a .833 save percentage.
