The Langley Thunder are proud to announce the return of their annual Tessa Beauchamp Night, taking place on Wednesday, July 23 when the team hosts the New Westminster Salmonbellies in Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) action at Langley Events Centre. Game time is 7:30pm.
As part of the tribute, the Thunder will wear custom-designed jerseys honouring the memory of Tessa Beauchamp, an inspirational student-athlete who passed away in 2012 at the age of 18 following a four-year long battle with cancer.
The jerseys were produced by X-Treme Threads, and are generously sponsored by Mike Vanichuk Transport Co. Ltd. All proceeds benefit the Tessa Beauchamp Foundation.
The Thunder have auctioned off jerseys every WLA season since 2012 and have raised more than $31,000 for the Foundation in that time.
Tessa Beauchamp was known for her strength, compassion, and perseverance in the face of adversity. Her courage and dedication both on and off the court inspired many, and the Foundation created in her name supports a range of causes including scholarships, community initiatives, and charitable organizations—reflecting the values Tessa lived by.
“Tessa was an extraordinary young woman whose impact continues to be felt more than a decade later,” said Ken Buchan, President of the Langley Thunder and the Tessa Beauchamp Foundation. “As someone who had the privilege of teaching Tessa at Holy Cross, I saw firsthand her kindness, her determination, and the way she uplifted everyone around her. This night allows us to celebrate her legacy.”
Fans are encouraged to join the Thunder on July 23 at 7:30pm for a night of lacrosse, remembrance, and giving back.
