The Langley Thunder are back in action tonight (Wednesday) as they look to build on an impressive season-opening victory.

The Thunder host the Maple Ridge Burrards at Langley Events Centre with the Western Lacrosse Association game set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Langley’s impressive arsenal of young talent led the way last week in a 12-7 victory, highlighted by Connor Robinson scoring two goals and five points and Tyler Pace’s two goals and two assists.

Robinson was the first overall pick in the WLA draft in 2018 while Pace was the top selection in 2017.

And in goal, Brodie MacDonald – one of the few veterans on the team – delivered a 42-save performance. His .857 save percentage was third-best among all WLA goaltenders in the opening week.

The Burrards are playing their third game of the season, having split the first two.

Maple Ridge fell 13-6 to New Westminster before bouncing back with a stellar defensive effort in an 8-3 win over Nanaimo.

Curtis Dickson leads the team with six goals and 10 points through the first two games.
